Studying leads to Shoe Shopping.

So I swear there's always something bringing me down during study time every single semester (it's one subject per semester and I get some study leave but the whole work full time study part time thing is never fun.). So this time, it's meant shoe shopping (as opposed to whatever I bought last time I blogged)!

Bonbons Saffron in Plum Suede

I've been eying these shoes for a while although knowing the quality, it would probably be quite lacking so I was never really willing to fork it out. However, the shoe link was selling them for $30 and it came in my size (6.5), so I thought, hey why not.

These arrived on Friday so that's cool

Acne Pistols in Black (For what is considered CHEAP)

Meanwhile, there's a pair of classic black boots that I've been looking at for ages, thinking hey there's no point, my nine wests will last me.

Well..after the last music festival I went to I don't think I can say that (and I don't want to think of all the fluids and dirt which was stuck to my shoes. They went from black to brown!)

My-Wardrobe.com currently has a 30% off code: myX30. If you switch from the overpriced $600 AUD site to the British pound GBP site and put the code in the price (including shipping!) drops to a much more reasonable $350 AUD. For that much, why not!

These shoes are a classic. Supposed to last forever and making fashion headlines for the past few years. You can tell they're well made by the way the sole is sealed and with luck the heel doesn't get thrashed as often as my nine wests (which I've had to re-heel a few times.)

Shoes of Prey - Click Frenzy was worthwhile to get custom shoes for pretty much half price

Alas I didn't stop with my shoe shopping.

So about two days ago there was click frenzy, Australia's attempt at a black friday sale (on Anzac day? Really? How commercial. But considering I am cramming away I guess it doesn't matter).

They also had 30% off so away I went buying the gift certificates for 30% off (as brandsexclusive also had 30% off which I also bought but that's delayed which bothered me so much. Also they haven't cancelled my order after emailing them right after. Well, that's an issue for another time)

Then I decided I really wanted shoes now so I went and bought the ones I had designed previously.

At another 30% off.

These are slightly boring with a short heel or none at all ,but at least I know I can wear them all the time.

 (normally $139)
 (normally $199)
(normally $199)

Total price - $502 ($500 gift voucher + $2)

Now as the gift voucher was actually $350, that means in total, it was $352.

Win?

Blouses again!

Remember when I was raving about wanting something like this topshop shirt?

Step 1 - Get the shirt
Well whilst I can't get the ties bits exactly, I have found a nice plain pocketless cream silk blouse!

Where from? Saba's Elaine blouse for $109

Pretty good (even if the buttons are hidden).

Step 2 - Get a bow
A bow? A ribbon? What?
I could get a ribbon, but Asos has made one for me already:

Okay - looks like it's been sold out (was mine the last? Whoops.)
The puff isn't there which I'm quite happy about.

WIN.

Meanwhile, this shirt from Cue is sleeveless but the necktie really reminds me of Marc Jacobs.

See for yourself:

Pictures of my massive haul from Everlane, Ann Taylor and Loft coming...not that soon. End of the week?
I'll be able to compare silk blouses from Everlane and Ann Taylor!

Emerald is the 2013 Pantone Colour? Oh god.

Sooo, Emerald will be in next year.

I don't know how this could possibly be pulled off without looking like Christmas, but then again I'm guilty of wearing/owning quite a bit of Tangerine.

Awkward.
I have lots of reds in my wardrobe, and I've somehow managed to amass a tangerine jacket, shorts and dress despite claiming I don't like orange.

But really... green would be a hard one to convince me of. Especially dark green.

I don't mind mint green this year, but it's christmas and I still cringe at wearing a green cardigan.

Maybe the green will breathe some new life next year?

The fabulousness look of the guy with a Celine trapeze

Though I would normally consider the Celine trapeze a female's bag, today I spotted on the train a guy in business casual with a Celine trapeze.
It looked amazing.
In this case it would definitely be a man bag but it was pulled off really well and there wasn't anything emasculate about it.
Definitely something to be considered.

Black Friday/Cyber Monday sale shopping haul. Part 1.

So for the past few days there have been heaps of sales.

Whether the sales resulting from the failed Click Frenzy which was fairly lacklustre and usual in line with the type of clearance-only "15% off sales" in Australia, or the early beginnings of the US post-thanksgiving sales,  there's no way to deny that there have been heaps of sales, and thus heaps of discounts.

Sites such as Cyber Monday dedicated to the cyber monday sales summarise it far better than I, so for now, let me just show off my loot.

I'm still in need of some decent shoes but ninewest.com seems to always redirect me to ninewest.com.au much to my frustration.
Also, my love affair with the silk blouse hasn't gone away yet so I'm itching to find some cute casual ones, and some nice classic ones.

Now how about some photos?

TM Lewin 10% off

Get 10% off TM Lewin at their store in King Street, Sydney CBD. =)

They sell shirts and businesswear for males and females. Usually the shirts are very nice and thick although they wrinkle easily after washing and it takes a bit of ironing to get it to straightness.

They kind of make me want a Brooks Brother no-iron shirt whenever I wear one.

Contrast fabrics

So one of the outfits I am totally admiring at the moment is the silk blouse and shorts combination. Casual or smart, day or evening - just use a bit of lipstick and you're ready to face everything -- on a weekend anyway.
